Expert Witness Rules: a New Consultation Inquiry Is More Than Just a 15 Minute Chat

It’s an audition, interview, and credibility sales pitch

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘆: "𝘕𝘰 𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 3729 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴"

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘄: "𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮, 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘭𝘺..."

Many underestimate the importance of 1:1 Calls
↳𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲

During "𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀," the attorney gets to:

• Evaluate the expert's appearance
• Evaluate the expert's body language
• Evaluate the expert's speaking prowess
• Evaluate the expert's communication style

𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆

During "𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀," the attorney 𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗢 gets to:

• Evaluate their case's merit
• Evaluate their case's key points
• Evaluate their case's potential gaps
• Evaluate their case's litigation strategy

𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆

Oh, and the expert witness
↳They evaluate if they want to work with the attorney
↳Sometimes, a quick call is enough to say "𝗡𝗢"

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆:
On intake calls, an expert mustn't give away the farm
↳But they can't provide nothing of value either
↳𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱

𝗣.𝗦. - Ever hang up and think, "𝙉𝙖𝙝, 𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨?"
