How To Escape the Waiting Place Make the Ask

Last night I read "𝙊𝙝, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙔𝙤𝙪'𝙡𝙡 𝙂𝙤" to my son

"𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚" is truly the scariest place ever ...

Credit to Dr. Seuss.

𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 / 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟬 ...

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲:

"... For people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go

Or a bus to come, or a plane to go

Or the mail to come, or the rain to go

Or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow

Or waiting around for a Yes or No

Or waiting for their hair to grow

Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite

Or waiting for the wind to fly a kite

Or waiting around for Friday night

Or waiting, perhaps for their Uncle Jake

Or a pot to boil, or a Better Break

Or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants

Or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.

Everyone is just waiting"

Every time I read this to my 3-year-old toddler

𝙄 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨

Life's too short to "𝙒𝙖𝙞𝙩"

It's either that or endlessly sit on the sidelines

𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙖 "𝙒𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚"

At worst, they'll tell you to "eff off"

At best, you'll advance further towards your goals

I left "𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚"

With my medicolegal consulting

And ... Oh the places it has taken me

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 "𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚?"
