Depositions are meant to get an expert's opinion on record

In theory anyways

When it comes to real-life depositions

The opposing counsel exclusively aims for "gotchas"

3 Months ago I was deposed by defense counsel

In a breast augmentation gone really bad

And it lasted 3 hours start to finish

Unsurprisingly, 2.5 of it was spent

Defense attorney:

• Do you market your expertise?
• Have you used any listing sites?
• Who taught you expert consulting?
• When did you start being an expert?
• How much money did you earn in 2023?
• How did you first get retained in this matter?
• What's with the expert certificate from Florida?

Me: Answer, Answer, Answer, Answer

Me inside: "When we gonna talk bout the medicine?"


Why did they waste 2.5 hours on that charade❓

Because the 30 minutes of medical testimony

Went very poorly for their defense
