Pilot: More Flights = A Positive

Attorney: More Trials = A Positive

Surgeon: More Surgery = A Positive

Engineer: More Buildings = A Positive

Football QB: More Superbowls = A Positive

Expert Witness: More Retitions = A negative — Why?

In 2018, I was retained for the 𝟭𝙨𝙩 time

Yesterday, I was retained for the 𝟭𝟭𝟳𝙩𝙝 time

Has anything changed across these 6 years?
↳𝙔𝙀𝙎 ... I am a 𝟭𝟬𝙭 better expert than before.

My 𝟭𝙨𝙩 retention was super dicey:

• I stumbled through an affidavit
• I scraped together an amateur report
• I bumbled through scheduling conflicts

But the case settled and I never heard again from my retaining attorney (𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙢)

Fast forward to 2024

• My scheduling process is automated
• My reports are structured and high-yield
• My 9 depositions demonstrate teaching mastery
• My 3 trials showed an ability to stay calm under cross

There is 𝙉𝙊 way I could've done in 2018 what I do now

At depo and trial, opposing counsel often asks me
↳Doctor, why have you been retained so often❓

They try to phrase this as if it's a bad thing (𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨𝙣'𝙩)

My reply: I understand the legal system and my role
↳And I excel at teaching medicine to non-physicians
